Possible Amnesty by Fiat
Several Republican senators sent President Obama a letter last week. The letter expressed fears that Obama would simply order immigration authorities to not enforce the law, then present Congress with a fait accompli. If true, these plans are deeply disturbing. 70% of the country does wants more enforcement before an amnesty is even considered. Obama would basically be assuming the position of dictator with this action, ignoring the law that he has a duty to execute as he sees fit. He would turn this country into one governed by men, not by laws.
