Health Care
It looks like health care is going to pass.
I don't mind the individual mandate, and I don't mind guaranteed issue. I don't even mind all of the new taxes. I would just like to know why we need a new bureaucracy. Why can't we just let people buy into Medicaid (along with individual mandate/guaranteed issue) and be done with it?Why do we need a completely new program, with completely new opportunities for payoffs to special interests? An added bonus of this approach is that the "culture war" issues (eg abortion) are already up to the states with Medicaid-no need to refight those battles.
