My Thoughts on Same Sex Marriage
Proposition 8 in California has renewed the debate on same sex marriage.
My main issue: Who cares if 2 men want to live together and call it marriage? Who will be less married if homosexuals they don't even know are allowed the benefits of marriage? Nobody.
The definition of marriage has changed-it wasn't always one man and one woman. In the past-and still today in some cultures-it has been one man and multiple women. Until 1968, it was one man and one woman of the same race. What is so wrong with redefining it to include two people of the same gender.
I know a lesbian family. They love each other, they have a daughter. What is missing that makes that family not a "marriage"?
