My final trial for Trial Ad was today. My side lost, however, my grandfather did come close to hanging the jury in my favor.

Employed!
My previous employer said that they were cutting payroll expenses, and my services would no longer be needed. I just got employed at a higher paying job, with a cheaper commute! :-D

Yes on State Secrets Protection Act
The Senate Judiciary Committee is considering the State Secrets Protection Act. If passed, the law will make it more difficult for the government to abuse the state secrets privilege. Basically, information the government claims state secrets for will have to actually be reviewed by the court before it gets kept out of litigation. Makes sense to me!

I've got my Trial Ad jurors and witness lined up (Dad, Grandpa, Mom-everyone's using their family-they're the only people who love us enough to sit through a 4 hour trial!)! Too bad it's at 8:45am on a Saturday-and I just found out I have an Sub and Cite this Sunday. :-(

Double Play
I just found out that I have summer employment and a law review editorship (Symposium and Submissions) on the same day!!
