Well, I depart for college tommorrow! I wrote this poem to commerate the event:

Last Afternoon Home

August 21^st-

My last afternoon home.

I make tea in the kitchen.

While the water boils, I stare out at the pool, and contemplate:

My senior year is looming large over the horizon.

This year, I will finally have the privacy I have long desired, and this is good

But

I will still miss seeing

The sunlight shimmering on the pool;

The towel hanging lazily over the deck

Occasionally disturbed by a little breeze!
