Commitment Hearings
I went to commitment hearings at Bellevue.
I am pretty skeptical about some of psychiatry's claims. I think that it attempts to medicinealize normal personality differences. However, when you see a guy brought into the courtroom in chains, loudly commenting about everything anyone says, interfering with his lawyer, you know he has a problem.

Got a (Temporary) Government Job
I started this week as a judicial intern-for 10 hours a week for 6 weeks.
So far, it's very interesting. I just wish it was a permanent, government position, rather than a temporary position through my school (which is probably trying to get its employment rating up in time for US News).

iPad
I've seen the iPad, and I'm not impressed. It's not as portable as my MP3 player, it can't make phone calls, and even if it could, it's less portable than my phone, it can't multitask or run flash, and I would be limited to only Apple-approved software, so it can't replace my laptop, and I prefer dead-tree books, so I don't need an e-reader.
