David Irving
I’m going to start this post by stating the obvious: The Holocaust happened.
That being said, I don’t think it’s appropriate to jail Holocaust deniers. David Irving did not physically harm the person or property of a nonconsenting other. So why should he be jailed for three years? He should be ridiculed, not jailed.
Using Nazi tactics (ie: punishing “thought crime”) to fight neo-Nazis just makes them martyrs.

Patriot Act Up For Renewal
The Patriot Act is up for renewal. If renewed, the Patriot Act would become permanent law. The government would permanently be able to get such private records as financial and medical information on people without proven connections to terrorist organizations without showing probable cause. This law is being pushed by the same Bush Administration that wants to hand over our ports to a company controlled by a shariah country.

Wiretaps
Write your Congressman and tell him you want to have all wiretaps approved by the FISA court, and oppose Bush’s warrantless wiretaps by executive fiat.

Goodbye Time Shifting?
Congress is currently debating something called the Analog Hole Bill (HR 4569). This bill would require every TV set and other analog video device to follow the VEIL watermark. The VEIL watermark is something that would prevent a TV show broadcast over the air from being copied onto a tape for later viewing (for example). “Oh, they’re only trying to protect their content; they wouldn’t take away time shifting”, you say. Well, how do you know? You can’t-you can’t see what’s in the VEIL spec without paying $10,000 and signing a non disclosure agreement-which means that even if you do pay, you can’t tell others about it! What happened to free public debate about laws we will all have to live by? I encourage all of you to write your Congressmen and tell them you do not approve of laws mandating secret technology.

Cartoon Rage
So the followers of the “religion of peace” are burning embassies and killing people over…cartoons.
Look at Piss Christ.
It’s a crucifix in a jar of urine. Of course, Christians were insulted about it. But did they burn buildings over it? No. Did any country withdraw its diplomat over it? No. Did anyone call for restrictions on freedom of the press over it? No.
I understand why Muslims don’t like these cartoons. However, there are right and wrong ways to express that you don’t like something. Writing angry letters to the editor-fine. Not buying the paper-fine. Peaceful protests-fine. Burning buildings and killing people-barbaric.
NOTE: Don't bother asking me to take the cartoons down. I'm keeping them on my blog in support for freedom of the press and in opposition to barbarism.

In at Pace!
The Half Moon
In the sky through my window
My last year of college
Is halfway done:
Law school will soon begin
I will part from my friends
My heart is anxious.
